Day 23 June 5 Friday

Worked on the text proof pages for an hour or so before going into Van Buren to board the train to Winslow. Very nice train and quite a few people. Not too much to see during 3 hour ride. Picture of old inn that was major stop when the railroad was in full swing is the bottom picture. Not much in Winslow. Nice, relaxing ride up the hill and back down again. Train cars restored from the 1920s. Van Buren is kind of like Galena, IL across from Dubuque but smaller. Antiques primarily. Will get back to the proofs the rest of the day and try to get everything together to put in the mail tomorrow or the next day. This camp -Park Ridge - is very nice. Quiet, breezy, and right on a nice little creek. They have a little chapel and have services on Sundays. Religious material in the laundry room and a "lesson" was included with the receipt.
