Well, we were just busy little beavers sitting on the edge of Beaver Lake (teehee). I got the proofs of the first ten chapters of the text done and Jack got done whatever he was doing today. So we are ready to move on. Had talked to a fishing guy about going out on the lake about 6PM tonight but it didn't work out. We didn't want to be out four or more hours and it was $300 minimum with possibly more hours until we caught something. We're too old for that.
But if you want to hear something that is really -- I don't know what it is-- Jack called another guide last night and this young guy answered the phone and said I'll get my dad. So Jack is going on and one about what we want to do and the dad says, "I really would like to but my wife died and we ain't buried her yet." Jack was speechless. The guy was very apologetic and said it would probably do him good to get out on the water but it just don't feel right. Jack kept saying, no, no, it's all right. I guess the kid didn't know what to say. We are unavailable tomorrow would have covered it.
Also, didn't mention it yesterday but the area from Little Rock into the northwest corner of Arkansas has much more Mexican influence. Small mom and pop as well as fancy Mexican restaurants along the way. And some signs and bodegas in Spanish.
Time for happy hour, a little belated but celebrating our good work today - any excuse works.
